Orlando: Always Evolving, Always Inspiring

Orlando has recently experienced a remarkable transformation. If you haven’t been there lately, its best-kept secret is how much it’s changed.

Distinctive Dining Districts

Orlando is a true culinary hot spot with award-winning restaurants and celebrity chefs that cater to visitors from across the globe. There’s an extensive menu of fine-dining establishments, international eateries, casual cafés and chic wine bars for just about any taste or budget. Looking for an upscale steakhouse or a night of dancing? What about a jazz club or a new neighborhood bistro? Or want to check out where the locals wine and dine? Luckily, these dining experiences are all found here. Our distinctive dining and entertainment districts include the Convention Area, Restaurant Row, Winter Park, Downtown, Universal/CityWalk and Disney/Lake Buena Vista.

Revitalized Downtown

Another new downtown Orlando entertainment venue is on its way to becoming a sought-after destination for meeting attendees, corporate groups and even team-building activities. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is currently under construction and is expected to open during fall 2014. The arts complex will eventually join the country’s most advanced arena and events center — the Amway Center — in revitalizing downtown Orlando’s entertainment options.

Leading-Edge Medical City

Orlando was recently ranked by the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association as the No. 3 destination for medical meetings in 2011.

Top-Ranked Convention Center

Acknowledged by many meeting professionals as the industry leader when it comes to flexibility, functionality and service, the Orange County Convention Center is the nation’s second-largest meetings and conventions facility. So it’s no wonder the meetings facility was recently selected by Business Review USA as the best of its class in the country. The publication ranked the top 10 U.S. convention centers, and Orlando came out on top.

New Thrills & Spills

Theme parks such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, only at Universal’s Islands of Adventure®, are ready for you to explore. A new 3-D attraction based on the film “Despicable Me” will open in 2012 at Universal Studios Florida®.  SeaWorld Orlando® opened TurtleTrek, a 3-D theater experience, during spring 2012. And Discovery Cove® unveiled Freshwater Oasis, a face-to-face swimming encounter, during spring 2012. While at the Walt Disney World® Resort, Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom® is undergoing a year-long expansion throughout 2012. Downtown Disney® also plans to open Splitsville, a bowling, dining and nightlife venue. And the Walt Disney World Speedway launched the Exotic Driving Experience.
